Oyo Police Arrest 10 Suspected Human Parts Dealers In Iseyin, Saki
The Oyo State Police Command has arrested 10 suspected human parts dealers during an intelligence-led operation in Iseyin and Saki areas of the state.
The suspects were apprehended at separate hideouts following months of intelligence gathering, surveillance and monitoring by operatives of the Command Monitoring Unit.
Police spokesperson, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, said searches conducted after the arrests led to the recovery of suspected human parts, including a human heart, pieces of skull and human flesh, as well as assorted charms.
The recovered items have been secured for forensic examination as investigations continue.
According to the command, the suspects allegedly confessed to dealing in human parts for ritual purposes and are assisting investigators in tracing the source and intended use of the recovered items.
Police said efforts were ongoing to identify and arrest other members of the alleged syndicate.
Commissioner of Police, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, commended the operatives and urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information that could help prevent and detect criminal activities across the state.
