Osun Decides: Adeleke Emerges Winner, Defeats Oyebamiji By 66,252 Votes

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent governor of Osun State and Accord Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke, winner of the 2026 governorship election.

Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who secured 444,815 votes.

The governor won by a margin of 66,252 votes.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, finished third with 17,180 votes.

The Returning Officer, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, announced the final result on Sunday morning after the collation of results from the state’s 30 local government areas.

The declaration secures Adeleke a second term as governor of Osun State.

Adeleke had contested the election on the platform of Accord after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while Oyebamiji represented the APC.
With the final declaration, Adeleke is set to continue as governor for another four-year term.
