Accord Takes Early Lead In Reported Ife North Polling Units

Accord has recorded strong early figures in some polling units in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State, according to results reported from the ongoing governorship election.

At Yakoyo Ward, Unit 01, Accord polled 211 votes, ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which recorded 116 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) secured six votes.

At Edunabon I Ward, Unit 04, Accord also took the lead with 142 votes, while APC scored 130 votes and ADC recorded three votes.

Another reported result from Edunabon I Ward, Unit 05, showed Accord with 93 votes, followed by APC with 77 votes and ADC with three votes.

At Unit 10 in the same ward, Accord recorded 69 votes, while APC polled 55 votes and ADC had no vote recorded.

The figures indicate an early advantage for Accord in the reported polling units in Ife North, although the results remain unofficial and subject to verification and final declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Osun governorship election is being contested by several candidates, with incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of Accord, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji and ADC candidate Najeem Salam among the major contenders.

As collation continues across the state, attention will remain on whether the early figures from Ife North are sustained as results from more polling units and local government areas emerge.
