Olugbon Celebrates Oyo Elder Statesman Saka Balogun At 90
The Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Alao, has congratulated elder statesman, Dr. Saka Balogun, on his 90th birthday, describing his attainment of the nonagenarian age as a symbol of God’s enduring grace.
In a congratulatory message issued on Wednesday, the monarch joined the family, friends and associates of the former politician in celebrating the milestone, while thanking God for preserving his life.
Oba Alao praised Dr. Balogun’s outstanding contributions to politics, education and community development, noting that his commitment to public service earned him the respected titles of Balogun of Ogbomosoland and Chairman of the Oyo State Elders’ Council.
The royal father described the nonagenarian as a distinguished politician, accomplished academic and community leader whose exemplary life continues to inspire younger generations.
According to the monarch, Dr. Balogun devoted decades of his life to serving his people, Oyo State and Nigeria with integrity, wisdom and patriotism.
“For your seven decades of adulthood, you grew among your people, enriching decision-making with your wisdom, serving your community, Oyo State and Nigeria at large with integrity.
Your contributions to academics, community progress and national development are notable as you tread the path of uprightness and patriotism with humility.
Younger Nigerian leaders have a lot to learn from your values and inspiring leadership,” the statement read.
Congratulating the elder statesman on reaching the landmark age, Oba Alao, on behalf of Olori Olushola Adedoyin-Alao and the people of Orile-Igbon, prayed for continued good health, strength and divine grace for Dr. Balogun in the years ahead.
