Tinubu Deploys 24 Battalion, 311 Artillery Regiment To Kano

President Bola Tinubu has established a new army battalion and an artillery regiment in Kano State as part of efforts to strengthen security and tackle banditry, terrorism and other violent crimes.

The APC chieftain, Dr Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, disclosed this in a statement made available to news organisations on Saturday.

He said the 24 Battalion had been deployed to Tudun Wada, while the 311 Artillery Regiment would operate from Dambatta to strengthen military operations in Kano and neighbouring areas.

Kwankwaso commended Tinubu, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Defence Minister Christopher Musa and Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle for their contributions to security efforts.

He described the new military formations as evidence of the Federal Government’s commitment to protecting lives and property, adding that their presence would improve the military’s response to emerging threats.

The APC chieftain urged residents of Tudun Wada, Dambatta and surrounding communities to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful intelligence to support military operations.

He stressed that effective collaboration between security personnel and local communities would be crucial to the success of the deployment.
