‘You’re Blabbing’: NDC, Obedient Movement Hit Back At Ganduje
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Obedient Movement have fired back at former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, dismissing his criticism of the proposed Peter Obi-Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso presidential ticket as “mere blabbing.”
The reaction followed Ganduje’s claim that the proposed Obi-Kwankwaso alliance on the platform of the NDC was “dead on arrival” in Kano State and his assertion that neither Obi nor Kwankwaso possessed the political strength to secure victory in the 2027 presidential election.
Responding to the remarks, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the NDC, Abdulmumin Abdulsalam, said Ganduje lacked the political relevance to determine the electoral prospects of the proposed ticket.
“I think Ganduje is just blabbing. He is no longer politically relevant in Kano. Politics is about popularity, and we are confident the people will decide at the appropriate time,” Abdulsalam said.
He expressed confidence that the proposed Obi-Kwankwaso ticket would enjoy broad support across the country, arguing that Peter Obi’s performance in the 2023 presidential election, coupled with Nigeria’s current economic realities, would strengthen the alliance ahead of the 2027 polls.
Also reacting, the National Coordinator of the Obedient Movement Worldwide, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, rejected Ganduje’s assessment of both Obi and Kwankwaso, insisting that the former APC chairman had no moral authority to question their records.
Tanko maintained that Peter Obi left office as governor of Anambra State with a verifiable record of prudent management of public resources and without allegations of financial misconduct.
He argued that Nigerians would ultimately judge political leaders by their integrity, competence and track record rather than political attacks.
According to him, criticisms from political opponents would not diminish the growing support for Obi or the proposed alliance.
The NDC and the Obedient Movement insisted that the popularity and electoral fortunes of the proposed ticket would be determined by Nigerians at the ballot box, not by the opinions of political opponents.
