Updated: Troops Recover 10 Victims Abducted During NECO Exam Attack In Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have recovered 10 National Examinations Council (NECO) candidates and teachers who were abducted by suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists during an attack on a secondary school in Borno State.

Recall, the attack occurred at about 9:00 a.m. on Monday at the Technical Secondary School in Lassa Community, Askira/Uba Local Government Area, while students were sitting for their NECO examinations.

According to security sources, the insurgents stormed the school, abducting several examination candidates and teachers before fleeing into the surrounding bush.

Following the incident, troops of Operation Hadin Kai launched a rescue operation that led to the successful recovery of 10 of the abducted victims.

Security sources said efforts are ongoing to locate and rescue any remaining victims, while troops continue clearance and search operations in the area to track down the attackers and restore security.
