Rufai Oseni: ‘What Did You Guys Do To Him?’ — Broadcaster Tackles Tinubu’s Campaign Team

ARISE News anchor Rufai Oseni has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s campaign team over his speech at the All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Kaduna State, describing it as one of the worst campaign speeches he has heard.

Speaking on ARISE Television’s Morning Show on Monday, Oseni said the president’s aides had failed to prepare him adequately for his first campaign outing ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He argued that Tinubu should not have campaigned in Kaduna if he was going to deliver a speech that lacked structure and coherence.

“I think that was the worst campaign speech I’ve ever heard in my life by President Tinubu,” Oseni said.

The broadcaster faulted the campaign council for failing to prepare a concise speech that would allow the president to explain his administration’s policies and defend its record after nearly four years in office.

According to him, the president’s aides should have prepared a five-minute address highlighting the administration’s achievements and explaining its policies to Nigerians.

Oseni questioned why the campaign team allowed Tinubu to deliver what he described as a disjointed speech at a crucial point in his re-election campaign.

“What is wrong with you guys? Is this how much you are so concerned about just collecting money from him?” he asked.

He also criticised the president’s remarks on petrol subsidy removal and his attempt to blame the opposition for the poverty and hunger confronting Nigerians.

Oseni said the speech lacked a clear ideological direction and failed to provide an effective defence of the administration’s policies.

“You just allow a man like that to ad lib at his inaugural campaign speech after four years in office, where he needs to make a great defence, what did you guys do to him?” he said.

Expressing sympathy for the president, Oseni added: “I feel for President Tinubu this morning.”

The APC has begun campaign activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Tinubu seeking a second term in office.
