The Oyo State Government has appointed Coach Akande Fatai Adejumon-Smith as the new Technical Director of Crown Football Club, Ogbomoso, in a move aimed at returning the club to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, announced the appointment on Tuesday during the signing of the coach’s contract at her office.

Adegoke described the appointment as a strategic step by the Governor Seyi Makinde administration to strengthen Crown FC and restore the club to Nigeria’s top-flight football league.

She urged the new Technical Director to bring professionalism, discipline and commitment to the role, expressing confidence in his experience and technical ability to achieve the government’s objectives.

The commissioner also reaffirmed the state’s commitment to sports development through sustained investment in talent development, sports infrastructure and qualified personnel.

Responding, Adejumon-Smith thanked Governor Seyi Makinde and the commissioner for the opportunity to serve, pledging to use his experience to rebuild Crown FC and guide the club back to the NPFL.

He called for the support of the government, club management, players and supporters, expressing optimism that collective efforts would help Crown FC achieve its promotion ambition.
