NUT Day: Oyo Teachers Get Monday Off Duty
The Oyo State Government has declared Monday, October 5, 2026, a work-free day for teachers across the state to mark this year’s Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Day.
The directive was contained in a circular issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde.
According to the government, the gesture reflects its commitment to teachers’ welfare, professional development and contributions to the state’s educational sector.
The work-free day is also intended to enable teachers to participate in activities marking the celebration and promote unity within the teaching community.
The government congratulated teachers on the occasion and reaffirmed its commitment to policies and programmes aimed at improving teaching and learning across the state.
