“I Can’t Watch My Daddy Die” — Ogogo’s Daughters Seek Help

The daughters of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have made an emotional appeal for help after revealing that their father is battling stage-four cancer.

Lima and Kira Taiwo made separate appeals on Instagram on Monday, asking Nigerians, well-wishers and medical professionals to help their 66-year-old father access further treatment.

In a tearful video, Lima said the actor’s condition had deteriorated and claimed that hospitals had refused to continue treating him.

She stressed that the family was not seeking financial donations, but wanted help finding a hospital or medical professional willing to take on his case.

“If you know somebody that knows somebody that will be willing to treat him, anything, we’re willing to try anything,” she pleaded.

Kira, in a separate video, disclosed that her father’s cancer was at stage four, saying the hospital had told the family it could no longer administer chemotherapy.

She appealed to anyone capable of providing cancer treatment to contact the family, adding that a relative had been helping with the medical bills.

The emotional appeal intensified when Kira spoke about her father’s fear of dying.

“He’s saying that he doesn’t want to die. Please, I’ve never seen my daddy in that kind of pain before,” she said.

Lima also broke down while pleading for help, saying she could not bear to watch her father die.

Hassan, who has spent more than four decades in the Nigerian film industry, has featured in over 300 movies and remains one of the prominent figures in Yoruba cinema.

As of the time of filing this report, the actor’s management and family had not issued an official statement providing further details about his diagnosis or treatment.
