Fuel/Naira Scarcity: Two Down as Protest Turn Bloody in Ibadan
A supposed peaceful protest organized by some youths in the Apata area of Ibadan has turned bloody claiming lives while another was left seriously injured.
Our reporter who was at the scene of the incident, gathered that the youths were protesting the scarcity of fuel and the unavailability of new Naira notes.
An eyewitness claimed Anonymous told our reporter that some youths had gathered protesting the scarcity of fuel and the unavailability of new Naira notes when the protest suddenly turned chaotic.
He revealed that the security agents who surfaced at the scene fired gunshots to disperse the protesters and in the process, the bullets allegedly hit three persons.
At the time of filling this report, normalcy had returned to the area as Army officers, Civil Defence Corps, Policemen, and Road Safety Corps were on the ground to curb further breaches of the law and order.

Meanwhile, Oyo state police command confirmed the death of a member of a vigilante group as a result of the crisis saying his corpse has been deposited at a state hospital for post-mortem.
