JUST-IN: Rivers State Attorney-General, Adangor Resigns
Zacchaeus Adangor, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Rivers State, has resigned from his office.
His resignation was contained in a letter dated November 14, 2023, addressed to the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
According to him, his resignation was ‘based on personal reasons’.
The letter read, “I hereby give Your Excellency Notice of my resignation as the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Rivers State with effect from the date of this letter.
“For the avoidance of doubt, my resignation from the said office is based on personal principles.
“I wish to thank Your Excellency for the opportunity and privilege granted me to serve in your administration as a member of the Cabinet.
“My family and I are indebted to Your Excellency in gratitude.”
It is believed that Adangor’s resignation may not be far from the political crisis rocking the State.
On Wednesday, the State House of Assembly was demolished before the presentation of the 2024 budget by Fubara.
For eight years, Adangor served as Rivers’s attorney-general under the leadership of the current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, who was governor from May 2015 to May 2023.
