Peter Obi has said in a statement that there is a high possibility of ending the perennial strikes by University staff and workers through increased funds and redirection of Tetfund resources into Nigerian higher institutions
This, he mentioned in a series of tweets on Sunday; “We will strive to be globally competitive by increasing funding and ensuring that the (TETFund) resources are redirected to the funding of the Universities and other higher institutions robustly to end the perennial shrikes by University Staff and workers.”
The former Anambra Governor also pointed out that 14% budgetary funding for education is quite attainable as his administration would pursue the global best practices and standards within available resources.
“Certainly, in the medium and long term, 14% budgetary funding for education is within the realm of possibility.” He stated.
