Tinubu Fires At Obi, Says He Tackled Atlantic Ocean While Anambra Battled Erosion
President Bola Tinubu has taken a swipe at former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, questioning his leadership capacity and record in office.
Speaking at a political rally in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Friday, Tinubu compared Obi’s handling of erosion in Anambra with his own efforts to tackle ocean encroachment in Lagos.
“In Anambra State, he could not confront erosion. I, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, confronted the Atlantic Ocean,” the President declared.
He questioned whether Obi’s record demonstrated the leadership qualities required to govern a country like Nigeria, asking supporters if his performance reflected the character of a capable leader.
Tinubu also criticised Obi’s ability to manage political challenges, alleging that he could not put his political house in order.
“Is that a leadership trait? Is that a leadership character?” he asked, prompting supporters to respond in the negative.
The President urged his supporters to back his administration’s agenda, promising to tackle poverty, ignorance and economic regression.
“We will break the circle of poverty, ignorance and economic regression. We will definitely break it,” he said.
