The Senator Sharafadeen Alli Campaign Organisation (SSACO) has accused suspected supporters of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) of attacking two All Progressives Congress (APC) members at the Ibadan North Local Government Secretariat.
The organisation called on the APM governorship candidate, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, and Governor Seyi Makinde to caution their supporters against political violence.
The alleged attack, which reportedly occurred around 1pm on Wednesday, involved Abiola Abulesowo and Abanise Olanrewaju, who had accompanied a newly registered voter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office at the council secretariat.
Narrating the incident, Abulesowo alleged that some persons confronted them over their APC membership and questioned their presence at the secretariat, which he said was under APM control.

He said an argument broke out after they maintained that the public facility belonged to all Nigerians, regardless of political affiliation.
According to him, the confrontation escalated into physical assault, with the attackers allegedly slapping and punching them before they fled.
Abulesowo further claimed that their attackers pursued them and that they were subsequently assaulted by suspected Park Management System (PMS) thugs at a nearby bus stop. He alleged that their clothes were torn during the incident.
In a statement issued by its Director of Media and Publicity, Bisi Oladele, SSACO condemned the alleged assault, describing it as part of what it called a growing pattern of attacks on opposition members in Oyo State.
The organisation urged Adekanmbi and Makinde to discourage their supporters from intimidating political opponents, insisting that disagreements should be settled through peaceful campaigns and issue-based engagement.
It also called on the Oyo State Commissioner of Police to investigate the incident, identify those responsible and ensure they face the law.
SSACO maintained that public facilities should remain accessible to all citizens, irrespective of their political affiliations, warning against the use of political influence to intimidate opposition members.
