‘Where and How?’: Adeleke Dares Opponents Over Alleged Plot To Rig Osun Poll

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has challenged those allegedly planning to manipulate the August 15 governorship election, declaring that no one will be able to rig or steal the people’s mandate.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Oke-Ila, Ifedayo Local Government Area, Adeleke said every vote would count and urged residents to remain vigilant in protecting their ballots.

According to a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor dismissed claims that some politicians were plotting to influence the outcome of the election.

“I heard some politicians vowing to steal the votes. Where and how? Osun votes are untouchable. This is Osun State, the heart of the Yoruba nation. Nobody can rig us out here,” Adeleke said.

He expressed confidence that the electorate would defend their votes and ensure that the outcome of the election reflected the people’s will.
“The people’s votes will be defended. Their will on August 15 will become a reality,” he added.

The governor also urged supporters not to be intimidated, insisting that Osun people were prepared to participate peacefully in the election and safeguard the democratic process.

“Osun people are not scared. Osun people are not cowards. They will vote and defend their votes,” he said.

Adeleke further expressed optimism about his re-election bid, saying his administration’s record in office would earn him another mandate from the people.

“Our records speak for us,” the governor stated.
