Tony Elumelu Shares Old Business Card, Recalls Early Days As Photocopier Salesman
Tony Elumelu has taken a nostalgic trip down memory lane after stumbling upon an old business card from his early days as a photocopier salesperson.
The businessman shared a photograph of the aged card, which identified him as a Sales Executive with Precissa Sales Limited, with an address in Surulere, Lagos.
Reflecting on the discovery, Elumelu said the card reminded him of a period when he was a young and ambitious sales representative learning some of the fundamentals that would later become important to his business career.

According to him, those early experiences taught him resilience, negotiation and grit, lessons he said have remained with him over the years.
“Those lessons have stayed with me over the years and continue to shape how I approach business and engage with customers today,” he said.
Elumelu also used the throwback moment to underscore the importance of laying a solid foundation through discipline, hard work and consistency.
He noted that the person an individual becomes in the future is often shaped by the efforts and sacrifices made when nobody is watching.
“Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep executing,” he urged.

The old business card, however, has one feature that is no longer useful—the contact details.
Elumelu joked that the telephone number and address printed on the decades-old card are now “long gone.”
He ended the reflection with the hashtags #TOEWay and #Throwback, turning an old piece of paper into a reminder of how far a journey can go when its early lessons are not forgotten.
