Argentine iconic footballer, Leo Messi has been honoured with a ‘Baton of Football’. by the South America football governing organisation, CONMEBOL .
The footballer took to his Instagram page on Monday to share the news with pictures from the event.
He wrote, “Thanks to #conmebol for this tribute and to #sole_pastorutti for that beautiful moment. It was very special and emotional.”
Added to his honor is a life-sized statue of Messi holding the World Cup.
