Oyo 2027: Alli’s Campaign Fires Back At Adekanmbi Over Manifesto Criticism

The Senator Sharafadeen Alli Campaign Organisation (SSACO) has hit back at the governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, over his criticism of Alli’s manifesto, describing his reaction as an expression of frustration with a superior development plan.

In a statement on Wednesday, SSACO’s Director of Media and Publicity, Bisi Oladele, accused Adekanmbi of defending Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration despite what it described as shortcomings in grassroots development, healthcare, education, agriculture and youth empowerment.

The campaign organisation said Alli’s manifesto, tagged Oyo AHEAD, offered practical solutions to challenges facing the state, adding that its proposals were designed to address areas where the current administration had allegedly failed.

SSACO questioned Adekanmbi’s criticism of the manifesto as lacking originality, arguing that healthcare, education, employment, workers’ welfare and economic development remained essential priorities regardless of whether previous administrations had pursued similar policies.

The organisation also faulted the state government’s performance in education and healthcare, claiming that Oyo State ranked 27th in WAEC performance and that several hospitals lacked doctors.

It further alleged that farm settlements and agricultural estates established by the government were no longer functional despite substantial budgetary allocations.

On local government administration, SSACO challenged Adekanmbi to explain why the poor staffing and funding of existing primary healthcare centres should prevent a future government from establishing better-equipped and adequately staffed facilities across communities.

The organisation described Alli’s manifesto as a practical response to the state’s challenges, citing his previous experience as Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff to former Governor Rashidi Ladoja and his current representation of Oyo South Senatorial District.

It maintained that his experience in public administration, legislative service and community leadership positioned him to provide effective leadership if elected governor in 2027.

SSACO urged voters to support Alli, describing him as a familiar and trusted leader with a track record of service.
