Makinde Approves Prof. Kalilu’s Appointment As LAUTECH VC
Oyo Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde has on Tuesday appointed a Professor of Arts and Arts History, Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu as the substantive Vice Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso.
Prof. Kalilu’s appointment was
contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Salihu Adelabu.
According to the statement, Kalilu
is to serve as Vice Chancellor for a single term of five years with effect from 12th June, 2024.
Kalilu joined the service of LAUTECH on September 1, 1992 and was pronounced a Professor of Arts and Arts History in the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, Faculty of Environmental Sciences on October 1, 1999.
He was thereafter appointed
as Acting Vice-Chancellor on June 12, 2023.
Being an alumnus of the University of Ife and the University of Ibadan, Prof. Kalilu is a polymath and specialist in Form and Material Technology.
He hails from Ogbomoso and is married with kids.
