Dolly Parton’s Death: Family Reveals What Killed Country Music Icon
Dolly Parton’s family has revealed that the country music icon died at 80 after a brief battle with cancer.
Parton’s nephew, Bryan Seaver, announced her death in an Instagram video on Tuesday, saying the singer had “lived in the light” and was now “in the arms of Jesus.”
Her representatives later confirmed that she died at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville, surrounded by loved ones.
The announcement has sparked an outpouring of tributes from global stars, including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Eminem, Linda Ronstadt and Paul McCartney.
US President Donald Trump also ordered flags across the country to fly at half-staff in honour of the music legend.
Parton, known for timeless hits including Jolene and 9 to 5, was also celebrated for her extensive philanthropic work.
