Tinubu Pictures To Replace Illegal Adverts On First Niger Bridge — Umahi
Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has ordered the removal of illegal advertisements on the First Niger Bridge linking Anambra and Delta states, directing that they be replaced with pictures of President Bola Tinubu after the ongoing rehabilitation.
Umahi gave the directive on Wednesday while inspecting work on the bridge, which was closed earlier this month after vandals removed critical components, including bolts, nuts and parts of its expansion joints.
The minister said anyone seeking to advertise on the bridge would have to obtain approval from the Ministry of Works, adding that the structure would, for now, be decorated with Tinubu’s pictures.
According to Umahi, the display would recognise what he described as the President’s efforts and infrastructure projects in the South-East.
He also appealed to voters in the region ahead of the 2027 presidential election, urging them to consider the projects executed by the Tinubu administration when deciding how to vote.
The First Niger Bridge is expected to reopen next week, following the completion of major rehabilitation works, although Umahi said the government would not rush the reopening until critical structural work was completed.
