Ekiti Police Arrest 26-Year-Old Man Over Alleged Cult Activities

The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old man, Sunday Samuel, over alleged cult-related activities in Efon-Ekiti.

Samuel, a resident of Isare Street, Efon-Ekiti, was arrested at about 11:45 p.m. following intelligence received by operatives of the Efon Division.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu, operatives commenced an investigation after receiving the information, leading to Samuel’s arrest.

A locally made single-barrel gun loaded with one cartridge and a mobile phone were recovered from the suspect.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Falade Adegoroye Michael, ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Ado-Ekiti, for further investigation.

The command said it remained committed to preventing cult-related activities and other forms of criminality across the state, urging residents to provide timely and credible information to the police.
