APGA’s Osun Governorship Candidate Quits Race, Backs APC’s Oyebamiji
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate in Osun State, Adesina Adeyemi-Doro, has withdrawn from the race and declared his support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
Adeyemi-Doro announced his decision at a media conference in Osogbo on Saturday, urging his supporters and members of APGA to vote for Oyebamiji in the election.
He said the decision followed consultations with his supporters and senior party officials, including the state chairman and secretary.
Adeyemi-Doro said his assessment of the candidates led him to conclude that supporting Oyebamiji aligned with what he described as their shared progressive orientation.
He expressed confidence that the collaboration would strengthen Oyebamiji’s chances in the election.
Oyebamiji welcomed the endorsement and assured Adeyemi-Doro and APGA members of an inclusive administration if elected.
The APC candidate also said his campaign remained open to working with political groups and individuals committed to the development of Osun State.
