Plateau Cleric Accuses Tinubu Of Pursuing ‘Islamic Agenda’, Calls For Self-Defence

The Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has accused President Bola Tinubu of pursuing what he described as an “Islamic agenda” in Nigeria.

The cleric made the allegation in a video circulating online, where he also urged Christians and other Nigerians to remain vigilant amid the country’s worsening security situation.

“Tinubu, I’m begging you in the name of Jesus to stop this Islamic agenda all over Nigeria,” Dachomo said.

He further alleged that the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket was being used to marginalise Christians, while insisting that Christianity would not be wiped out.

The outspoken cleric also called on Nigerians to prepare for self-defence, saying communities must be ready to protect themselves against attacks.

“Christianity must survive,” he declared.

Dachomo also claimed that one of his church members had received a letter allegedly threatening an attack by suspected Fulani militias.

“Fulanis are writing a letter to my member that they are coming to kill him,” he alleged.

Addressing Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, the cleric warned that any attack on members of his congregation could spark widespread unrest in the state.

“If anything happens to my members, there will be mass revolution in Plateau State,” he said.

He also alleged that some security personnel had been infiltrated by Boko Haram, although he did not provide evidence to support the claim.

The comments come amid persistent security challenges in Plateau State, where communities have experienced recurring attacks linked to armed groups and longstanding communal tensions.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the Presidency nor the Nigerian Police Force had responded publicly to the allegations made by the cleric. Likewise, there was no independent confirmation of his claims regarding the alleged threat letter or the alleged infiltration of security agencies.

The Federal Government has consistently maintained that it is committed to addressing insecurity across the country through military operations, intelligence gathering and other security measures.
