Osun: Governor Adeleke Cleared of Religious Bias by Muslim Community
Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke has been absolved by the Osun State Muslim Community (OSMC) from the alleged religious bias on his recently released list of Commissioners-nominee for the state.
Speaking at a press conference in the state capital, Osogbo on Sunday, the OSMC President, Alhaji Mustapha Olawuyi said it is not fair to accuse Adeleke of religious bias.
Alhaji Olawuyi pointed out Governor Adeleke’s first three appointments which were all Muslims, -the Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff to the governor, and Governor’s Spokesperson as there is no point in breeding sentiments.
Olawuyi expressed that there are still a lot of appointments going to be made by the governor while describing the Tinubu/Shettima leadership in Nigeria as a blessing despite the uproar generated by the Muslim-Muslim ticket and blamed religious leaders for trying to separate the citizenry adding that “Nigerians are now more enlightened”.
Previously, the Muslims Rights Concern (MURIC) under the leadership of Prof. Isiaq Akintola had accused the governor of being a secret agent of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for nominating 17 Christians against 7 Muslims in his commissioners-designate lists.
He, however, charged religious leaders to be objective while criticising the government saying that he believed that Muslims are being marginalized especially in the scheme of things in the South West of Nigeria.
