No More Propaganda: Information Minister, Muhammed Idris Pledges Open-Door Policy

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammed Idris on Thursday promised to operate an open-door policy in his administration.

Muhammed disclosed this in Abuja at the annual general meeting/conference of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

He said there is now a permanent end to promoting government policies and programmes using propaganda.

While stating his agenda to provide
credible information based on truth, mutual respect and empathy
to Nigerians at all times and boldly acknowledges mistakes when made, he noted that he would operate an open door policy as nothing has changed even as a minister.

“Being a minister will not change anything. My doors are open. My brothers are my brothers; my colleagues are still my colleagues. If the minister fails, the NIPR has failed,” he said.

Idris has served as the Editor-in-Chief, The Market; Chairman, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Kaduna State Chapter; and Vice Chairman, the Public Relations Consultative Association of Nigeria (PRCAN) among others.
