‘She is our First Fruit’- Remi Tinubu Receives Rescued Chibok Girl at Aso Rock

The First Lady, Remi Tinubu on Friday welcomed rescued Chibok girl, Rebecca Kabu at the presidential villa in Abuja.
In 2014, Rebecca was one of the 277 Chibok schoolgirls tragically abducted by Boko Haram insurgents.

At the meeting, the First Lady gave an assurance to the victim’s family that effort will be made to ensure Rebecca’s medical well-being and emotional recovery are taken care of with the aim of reintegrating her back into school.
She said in a statement, “Rebecca will be our first comeback story and returnee, she is our first fruit; she is a case I am quite interested in to see that she can go back to school at her own pace.’’
Mrs. Tinubu noted that her NGO, Renewed Hope Initiative, is working on how matured girls who are forced out of school can return to school for quality education.
