ElectionResults: Peter Obi Formally Petitions Presidential Election Tribunal
Mr. Peter Obi, Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, has officially submitted a petition to challenge the process that led to the outcome of the Presidential Election held on February 28, 2023.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the election after which it declared him President-Elect.
As a result of the declaration by the INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, the former Anambra state governor, Mr. Obi had vowed to challenge the process of the outcome.
In the early hours of Tuesday, the Chief Spokesman of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign of the Labour Party, Dr. Yunusa Tanko announced the submission of the petition in a short message.
He wrote, “It is official the Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter OBI has filed his petition to the presidential elections tribunal in Abuja. The process of reclaiming the people’s mandate has started.”
