PHOTOS: Governor Seyi Makinde Marks Re-Election
The executive governor of Oyo state and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Engr. Seyi Makinde celebrated his re-election in the governorship elections held on Saturday.
On Sunday, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC) declared Seyi Makinde as the winner of Saturday’s governorship election conducted in the state.
Makinde polled 563,756 votes against his close rival, Teslim Folarin of the All Progressive Congress,(APC) who had 256,685 votes.
In the spirit of celebration, Makinde in a tweet wrote:
“We dedicate this victory to God and the good people of Oyo State. We are grateful for your confidence in our administration and promise to work even harder to deliver our promises under Omituntun 2.0.”
Makinde won 31 out of the 33 local government areas in the state, while Folarin came second by winning two local government areas.
