Atiku/Okowa Campaign: Jumoke Akinjide Overturns Discord Among Southwest Stakeholders
Chief Jumoke Akinjide, a member of the Atiku/Okowa Campaign organization has utilized her communication prowess to douse a steamed tension amongst stakeholders at the organized Southwest presidential Parley in Ibadan
The presidential parley organized by the Southwest Development Stakeholders Forum almost had a different turn when speculations from different quarters have it that the PDP presidential aspirant, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar had snubbed the meeting.
The parley was a forum that enabled participants to air their plans and aspirations for Nigerians to the public hearing. Atiku, who had been billed to feature and address issues of interest in the region did not show up at the scheduled eleven o’clock in the morning until a quarter past five in the evening.
Atiku’s lateness however provoked
the disappointed organizers and participants at the event who were quickly appealed to through Chief Jumoke Akinjide’s explanations.
After some minutes of persuasion, by the former Minister of FCT, the people later admitted the Waziri Adamawa who later apologized to the participants.
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in his address promised restructuring of Nigeria, a privately driven economy, the creation of state police, and the empowerment of Nigerian women if voted as president.
Earlier, the Parley featured the Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP) Prince Adewole Adebayo who stated that his administration if elected, would create thirty million jobs, secure Nigeria’s borders through technology for improved surveillance as well as remove the Land Use Act to enable true lands owners have full access and control
Additionally, the director general of the DAWN Commission, Mr. Seye Oyeleye in his welcome address enjoined the presidential candidates to embrace regional development in their administration if elected.
