Victor AD Reopens Old Chapter With Apology To Tiwa Savage
Nigerian singer Victor AD has revisited his unreleased collaboration with Tiwa Savage, apologising to the award-winning star for how the remix of his hit song, Wetin We Gain, failed to materialise.
The singer, whose real name is Victor Adere, made the apology in an open letter shared on social media, admitting that he should have addressed the matter much earlier.
“It’s never too late to take accountability for my actions,” he wrote, acknowledging Tiwa’s contribution to the song and the effort she invested in the project.
Victor AD said he could offer explanations for why the remix never came out, but maintained that these would not outweigh the love, creativity and genuine effort Tiwa had put into making the song.
“For that, I’m truly sorry about how things turned out,” he said, while expressing appreciation for her contributions to Afrobeats and the opportunities she had helped create for others in the industry.
He also described Tiwa’s impact on his own journey as something he would never take for granted, ending the letter by declaring his love and appreciation for the singer.
Tiwa, popularly known as Mama Jam Jam, responded in the comment section, acknowledging the letter and indicating that there were no hard feelings.
“I appreciate this. God knows the reason for everything. All love,” she wrote.

The exchange comes against the backdrop of Tiwa’s long-standing influence in the African music industry. In 2024, the singer hinted that she might be approaching the end of her recording career, revealing that she was working on what could be her final studio album and admitting that she was tired after years in the industry.
She also sparked debate when she placed herself among Afrobeats’ so-called Big Three, arguing that a comparison based on talent and microphone performance would support her claim.
Beyond the debate over her standing in the industry, Tiwa has continued to defend her record of supporting other female artistes. She previously pushed back against claims that she failed to support women in music, questioning whether other female artistes had collaborated with as many women as she had.
Her career has also featured major milestones, including her performance at the coronation concert of King Charles III in 2023, where she became the first Nigerian artiste to perform at the historic event.
