President Bola Tinubu has urged members of the newly inaugurated PBAT Door-to-Door Movement to take the message of his administration’s reforms directly to Nigerians, insisting that the policies are designed to deliver lasting prosperity despite the temporary sacrifices they require.
President Bola Tinubu has called on supporters of the newly inaugurated PBAT Door-to-Door Movement to engage Nigerians at the grassroots and explain the objectives and benefits of his administration’s reforms.
Speaking at the inauguration of the movement in Abuja on Thursday, the President, represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, said the initiative should go beyond seeking political support by listening to citizens, inspiring confidence and communicating the dividends of good governance.
According to Tinubu, the reforms introduced since the beginning of his administration are aimed at laying a solid foundation for a more prosperous Nigeria, even though they require short-term sacrifices.
He said nation-building demands courage to make difficult decisions, noting that lasting progress cannot be achieved without embracing necessary reforms.
“Reform is not an event but a journey,” the President said, adding that the policies were designed to create greater opportunities, dignity and sustainable development for future generations.
Tinubu also stressed the importance of cooperation among the executive, legislature and the Nigerian people, saying all arms of government remain committed to ensuring that citizens benefit from the ongoing reforms.
He urged members of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement to conduct themselves as ambassadors of democracy by approaching every household with respect, listening to the concerns of citizens and promoting national unity above partisan interests.
The President further maintained that politics should strengthen national cohesion rather than divide the country, insisting that Nigeria’s collective interest must always come before political differences.
