‘It Is A Criminal Offence’: FPRO Warns Against Raining Curses Online
The Nigeria Police Force’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has giving a new twist to cyber bullying which is Raining of curses online.
Adejobi in a statement on X compared raining of direct curses online to cyberbulling adding that the public should be careful to differentiate between it and criticism.
He said raining of curses online is an offence which is punishable under the law
“Raining direct curses on someone online is cyber bullying, not expression of freedom or criticism.
“And cyberbullying, which is even different from defamation, is a criminal offence and punishable. Be guided.” He said.
Adejobi ‘s post has however, been followed with mixed reactions. Some supported him claiming it would sanitize the society while others spoke against it.

Felix Olusola Abayomi, “When does raining curses become a crime? I look forward to the day someone will challenge these law they are using to take away peoples human right in the supreme court. Late Gani Fawehinmi would have challenged that law by now.”
Ibrahim Abu Umar replied Abayomi, “It is the confidence in your ignorance for me. You consider raining curses on someone not a crime? Is it a commendation?”
