‘Tinubu Go Soon Change The Flag’: Post Burial Reactions Of Nigerian Flag Designer, Taiwo Akinkunmi
Nigerians have poured out their views regarding the recently buried designer of the Nigerian flag, Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi, after a year-long wait for a promised state funeral.
Recall that Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi, fondly known as “Mr. Flag Man,” designed the Nigerian flag in 1958 and received a £100 award for his chosen design.
The iconic designer passed away at 87, and was celebrated for shaping a symbol of national unity.
Following his funeral service, organised by the Oyo State government, last week Friday in Ibadan, Nigerians have shown concerned about his passing.
Some felt, he was not well celebrated despite his contributions to the nation while others held contrary views.
