Support President Tinubu To Reduce Poverty – APC Chieftain Tells State Governors
Mr. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, has urged all the 36 state governors in the federation to throw their weights on President Bola Tinubu’s agenda in order to revamp the economy and reduce hardship.
According to him, he has critically looked at all the unavoidable policies by the president to revive the economy, which may be creating pain at the moment, but the overall benefits would be a great blessings to the masses.
This, he told journalists in Osogbo on Sunday. Oyintiloye added that the governors are more accessible to the people than the President; however, advising that in order to put the country on the path of economic prosperity, governors should show more commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President, irrespective of their political affiliations.
He said, “For us to move forward and to minimise poverty, the governors must be ready to support the president. Although, there are some governors who are doing their best to support the presidents, but are being suspected of not doing enough.
“The whole burden cannot be on the president alone, the sincerity of the governor is important, especially by cutting wasteful spending and corrupt act.
“It is not a time for buck passing. Masses are at the mercy of our governors. They are the ones we can see easily. The President is obviously doing a lot to bring down the sufferings but could that be said of the governors?”
He, thereby, appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience and allow Mr. President to fulfill his mandate and rectify years of rot in Nigeria.
