VIDEO: ‘Mummy Talk To Daddy’- VDM Tackles First Lady On Farming In Nigeria
Popular social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, VDM has tackled the current first lady of Nigeria, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu in a new video.
The activist in the video read a news highlight on Bukola Kukoyi’s social media page which states that, “We need to start growing the food we eat, it does not take much effort- First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu as she unveils the first harvest from her home garden”.
Reacting to the post, VDM who is known for open criticism without fear threw a subtle shade at Mrs. Tinubu.
In what seemed like a comic video, VDM acknowledged that indeed there is no issue with farming in Nigeria but satirizes President Tinubu’s wife on the rigourous process of farming before the end result.
He pointed out that Mrs. Tinubu’s display of harvest was made possible because she has people working on her farm without any form of harassment from herdsmen as opposed to what an ordinary Nigerian farmer goes through daily.
His words in part, ” Mummy, the truth is that it is not difficult for you because, it is not you that did the ridges, they did it for you and it is them that will clear the grass, anytime weed grows close to your crops, they will clear it, put fertilizers, but Mummy, there are a lot of factors that are not allowing Nigerians to go into farming, one major factor is the factor of the herdsmen…”
He also appealed to her to speak to Mr. President on behalf of Nigeria, to reduce the cost of fuel among other issues.
Recall, Verydarkman recently criticised President Tinubu’s daughter, Folashade over her father’s bad government.
This follows Nigeria’s preparation towards the planned August 1 Nationwide hunger protest #endbadgovernance in Nigeria.
Folashade Tinubu had instructed
market women to warn their children not to protest and to give her father, President Bola Tinubu, three years in office before complaining.
However, VDM in his reply stated that it is not possible since Tinubu’s government was impoverishing the people, hence, he has the worst first year in office thus far.
He also reminded her that Tinubu was among those who protested against former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration when fuel prices was raised from N65 to N87.
Speaking further, he said the increase in petrol prices to N750 and more is excessive and not available.
He stated that he would encourage people from demonstrating because it is their civil right. While looting, on the other hand, is not acceptable.
He, then, told Folashade to warn her father to do the right thing; else, he would have to learn the hard way.
