Tragedy: Vehicle With Passengers Plunges Off Third Mainland Bridge Into Lagoon On Eid-El-Fitr Day

A vehicle containing an unspecified number of persons have tragically found its way into the Lagos lagoon on Wednesday.

Reports reaching The Pendulum Media has it that an eyewitness testified that the tragedy occurred
on the newly rehabilitated Third Mainland Bridge at around 11.30 am, when the vehicle suddenly veered into the Lagoon.

Adeniyi who gave the account of the yet-to- be ascertained vehicle
attributed the cause of the accident to excessive speeding on the part of the driver.

However, rescue team, including men of the Lagos State Emergency Management LASEMA, and the Police, among others have arrived at the scene for the rescue mission.

As expected, the incident caused a traffic jam on the Third Mainland Bridge towards the Island.

Meanwhile, a source in LASEMA said the agency was still in the process of ascertaining those who were involved in the accident.
