Tackling Insecurity: Police To Launch Special Intervention Squad — IGP
Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokunon Tuesday disclosed that a special intervention squad would be launched in Kaduna soon to tackle the menace of insecurity.
Speaking to newsmen after meeting with Governor Uba Sani at the Government House in Kaduna, the IGP expressed it was time for action and to do everything possible to ensure the safe return of the abducted school children in Kuriga, Chikun LGA of Kaduna State.
Egbetokun added that the commanders of the special intervention squad had been trained, while the men were currently undergoing training.
He also revealed that the first batch of the special squad would pass out of training soon and be deployed immediately to commence action.
The Police boss who was also on a maiden working visit to the police command, commended the personnel for their dedication and commitment to ensuring security in the state.
He also warned police officers who were bent on tarnishing the image of the force to turn over a new leaf.
He said, “We want a police [force] that everybody will love. If the police serve the people well and they pray for them, the prayers will follow them and their children,”.
