VIDEO:”Couldn’t Something Speak For Him In The Spiritual Realm”- Herbert’s Brother Emeka Wigwe Queries During Tributes
The funeral ceremony for the late group managing director and CEO of Access Bank Plc, Herbert Wigwe, has continued with Night of Tributes at Victoria Island, Lagos.
Since the ceremony began on Monday with a ceremony tagged Herbert Wigwe: Celebrating Professional Excellence, many family, friends, and associates gathered in a solemn, yet celebratory, atmosphere to pay tribute to the life and legacy of the late Herbert, his wife, Chizoba Wigwe, and their son, Chizi.
Recall, they died on February 9, alongside other crew members in a helicopter crash in the United States on his way to attend the Super Bowl LVIII championship in Las Vegas.
While paying tribute to Wigwe’s memory, Emeka, one of Herbert’s siblings in a nostalgia moment shared how he spent his childhood with late Wigwe. He noted that, aside being siblings they were friends.
The brother in a spark of concealed emotion, however questioned the mystery behind his death despite all the good Herbert did while he lived.
He said, “I tried crying. You know it’s unbelievable what happened to Herbert. You just can’t comprehend it. It’s it’s like a fiction story that it could never have been written by the best script writer in Hollywood. It’s a dream.
“How does it happen? He had everything going. He was religious. You know i keep saying to people. Couldn’t something speak for Herbert in the spiritual realm? When it was gonna happen.
“Couldn’t something say this, hey this gentleman, let it not happen. So it just tells you we are just as vulnerable as the next person. I think we just share the memory of Herbert in all that he stands for, in all the good he did. And let’s build and make a better world for us.”
Emeka is one the six children in their family with other namely, Osita, Joyce, Herbert, Peggy, and Stella.
The funeral service will be held on March 9 and, afterwards, the remains of the deceased will be buried.
An outing service at the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, Lion of Judah Parish, Isiokpo, Ikwerre LGA on March 10 will conclude the burial programme.
