Yuletide: ‘We Are Hungry’-Lagos Residents Cry Out to Tinubu

Residents of Lagos Island and traders of the popular Idumota market expressed displeasure at President Bola Ahmed-Tinubu about their well-being on Friday shouting in Yoruba, “Ebi npa wa oo” meaning- we are hungry.

The scene was observed in a video showing the President’s convoy passing through the market as traders lined both sides of the road.

The traders who were expected to hail Mr. President upon sighting him did otherwise as they kept talking about their pains believed to have been caused by the government.

Underneath the complaining voices in the video, residents were heard saying the President had preempted the plans of the people, hence, the reason for the heavy security.

The painful outburst could nonetheless be caused by the economic challenges ravaging the country from the shortage of cash to the soaring price of the premium motor spirit commonly called petrol.
