When Upon Sin

When upon sin

Our heart is concealed,

We tremble at the sound of purity,

Our flesh gives way;

To the wonders of the world

When upon sin,

All that we give thereof,

Is nothing but torment?

In the fields of the splendor of wonders

Our flesh gives way.

When upon sin,

We wine and merry;

For this is our time to shine,

Putting on the armor of sin.

When upon sin

Alas! Judgment:

What seek ye now?

Soiled in shame and regret,

Had I known! We exclaimed. Indeed, when upon sin they exclaimed.
