In an interview with Sunday Scoop in 2020, he disclosed that he never promised fans to win a Grammy award for them but for himself.

He said, “People are getting it wrong. I didn’t promise anyone a Grammy award; I promised myself. I promised myself a lot of things. I promised myself a Music of Black Origin award and I got it.”

The ‘Street Credibility’ songster also noted in 2023 that he was popular but broke when he started out as a musician adding that many of his colleagues did not have social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram to advertise their songs and make money.

He, however, encouraged people with ideas to publicise their brands.”Put your brand out there. Market it, promote it. Let your face be known and the money aspect will come later,” he said.
