Veteran Nollywood Actress, ‘Iyabo Oko’ Passes on at 62
Nollywood actress, Sidikat Odunkanwi professionally known as Iyabo Oko has reportedly passed on.
The actress’s daughter, Bisi Aisha, made the announcement on Instagram saying that the actress died on Wednesday evening.
She wrote, “It is well with your soul mummy, RIP. Wurami. Rest in peace.”
Iyabo Oko until her death battled with ill-health which caused her to take a long break from the movie scene.
About a year ago, one of her daughters, Olamide, revealed the real cause the veteran actress stayed away from the movie scene.
She noted her mother was diagnosed with ischaemic stroke five years ago but kept her health issues away from the public.
Yoruba Nollywood stars including Foluke Daramola, Iyabo Ojo, Bolaji Amusan, Mercy Aigbe and Biodun Okeowo, others assisted financially in the past.
The 62-year-old actress was known for “Iyabo Oko” and “Apoti Aje” Sisi Mama” as her stage name.
She was born on the 15th of November 1960 in Iwo Local Government Area of Osun State.
