Two Teenagers Narrowly Escape Mob Action In Ibadan

Two children narrowly avoided being killed on Friday by an angry mob in the Dugbe area of Ibadan, Oyo state after allegedly breaking into a store. The juvenile suspects, Yusuff Olaide and Tunde Badmus, were arrested by the shop owners and then later confessed that they came from Agbokojo area of Ibadan when interrogated.

A witness claimed that he recognized the children as they do appear as scavengers around Dugbe not knowing they have been constantly robbing stores without being caught. In the process, a mob had gathered and was set to lynch the suspects when stopped by the intervention of Radio Nigeria, Ibadan who was quick to put a call to the police; our reporter gathered.

Our reporter verified that the police had arrived at the scene and sent the suspects to the Iyaganku Police Station for more investigations while some of the shop owners expressed regret on the recent shop thefts.

The Police PRO for the State, Mr. Adewale Osifeso, claimed in an interview that prompt police action prevented a potential jungle justice.
