Tribunal Verdict: VP Shettima, Opposition Parties, Govs, Others Arrive Court
In readiness to hear the final judgment of the Presidential Election Petitions Court (PEPC) on the petitions filed against the electoral victory of President Bola Tinubu slated for this Wednesday, September 6, members of the ruling party including Vice President, Kashim Shettima, Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Governors Hope Uzodimma and Yahaya Bello of Imo and Kogi States were seen seated in court.
From the opposition side was the acting national chairman of the PDP, Umar Damagun, and the LP national chairman, Julius Abure.
Aside from the concerned parties, a mammoth crowd of litigants, lawyers, and other interested parties have arrived in the courtroom.
The PEPT is sitting at the premises of the Court of Appeal headquarters in Abuja to give the final judgment today after months of legal defense.
Contrary to the declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, that President Bola Tinubu won the poll after scoring the highest votes, Obi and Atiku approached the tribunal seeking the nullification of Tinubu’s victory.
The Pendulum Media reports that Tinubu contested the election on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) while Shettima was his running mate.
Security operatives were having a hectic time vetting people, including journalists, who had trooped to the venue of the Tribunal to catch a glimpse of events on the judgment day.
