Tragic: Person Loses Life After Falling Into Running Jet Engine At Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport

Officials at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport have reportedly confirmed that one person died after falling into the spinning turbine blades of a Jet about to take off from the airport.

The Pendulum Media learned that the airport released a statement on X to address the incident and to share their condolences to the bereaved.

According to the statement, the deceased was seen by both the passengers and crew on board.

It also stated that the plane which was bound for Billund in Denmark, had been reversing at the time and it was not immediately clear how the person came to fall or whether they jumped, and whether they were a passenger or an employee.

However, the police and safety authorities have launched a major investigation while the passengers and crew on board who reportedly saw the tragedy happen are being offered counselling.

The statement read, “Today there was a horrible incident where a person ended up in an airplane engine.

“Our thoughts go out to the relatives and we care for the passengers and colleagues who witnessed this.

“The royal military police [the Marechaussee] are currently conducting an investigation.”

Moreover, a Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf on their website also reported the testament of an employee from the aircraft who claimed someone had jumped into the engine while the crew had just completed the safety instructions,”

“There was ‘a hellish noise’ after which smoke could be seen for a moment. Passengers and employees saw the incident happen before their eyes.” The eyewitness said.

Emergency services rushed to the airport just before 3pm, when the alarm was raised on Wednesday.
