Tinubu Postpones FEC Meeting In Honour Of Chief Of Army Staff, Lagbaja
The Federal Executive Council meeting has been postponed to another date which will be announced in due time; a statement read
Tinubu’s Spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga made this known in a signed statement on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the meeting which was initially scheduled for today was postponed in honour of Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, who passed away on Tuesday night.
It read, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, has rescheduled the Federal Executive Council meeting till another date to be announced.
“Initially scheduled for today, the council meeting was postponed in honour of Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, who passed away on Tuesday night.
“General Lagbaja served as the Chief of Army Staff from June 19, 2023, till his death on November 5, 2024.
Half-mast nationwide has been ordered by the President to be flown for seven days in honour of the late general.
