Thugs Attack Labour Party Campaigners in Lagos, Netizens React

Hoodlums suspected to be political thugs attacked members of the Labour party during Peter Obi’s campaign in Lagos on Saturday.

According to reports, the Labour party supporters were attacked around Jakande and TBS areas of the state.

Videos and pictures shared on social media reveal some individuals who were groaning in pain with bruises from machetes are being treated by the health team of the Labour Party.

However, many internet users have reacted and condemned the series of attacks launched by opposition parties against the party

A netizen, Oliver Ujah decries the rate of violence against the Labour party and INEC stressing that the ability of people to vote freely in Lagos is not guaranteed

Others believe that the attacks came from the All Progressive Congress APC and its presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed-Tinubu who, according to them are intimidated by the success and acceptance rate of the Peter Obi character as the 2023 presidential election draw near.

Similarly, an activist and Obi supporter, Rinu Oduala, said, “‘Obidients are bullies’. But one party is currently trying to prevent an LP rally in Lagos by sponsoring attacks with thugs armed with machetes and guns. The wickedness of our ‘intellectuals and celebrities’ isn’t talked about enough.”

Aside, from the Labour Party members who sustained injuries of various degrees, many buses and cars meant to transport the supporters for the various events to be held by the party have been vandalized.
